FDA Approves iPLEDGE Program for Accutane

The FDA now requires doctors who prescribe Accutane and women of childbearing age who take Accutane to register with the new iPLEDGE program, acknowledging that they are aware of the risks involved.

FDA Issues Accutane Alert

Category: The FDA and Accutane

In July 2005 the FDA issued an alert that patients using the acne medication Accutane should be closely watched for symptoms of depression. The FDA continues to assess reports of suicide or depression assoicated with the use of Accutane, manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals.
